Creating and Modifying Programs

The Graduate School’s Office of Academic Affairs and Planning coordinates the reviews of new graduate program proposals. The proposal flowcharts below outline the approval process for each type of program (degree, certificate, track/option, transition to self-sustaining).

**There are three deadlines for the submission of new program proposals each year: November 1, February 1, and May 1.**  Proposals submitted before these deadlines will receive a written response by the end of that quarter from the Office of Academic Affairs and Planning. This response will include a description of necessary revisions to the proposal and next steps in the process.
